Shea Butter Baby!

Hello Beauties,

Fall season has officially begun which means changing leaves, a cooler breeze, and pumpkin spice everything!  As the air outside gets colder, it also means the water in our skin evaporates more quickly causing dry skin. It's important to moisturize your skin year round but even more so in the fall/winter months. By using skin care products with hydrating benefits like shea butter, you can protect and treat your skin. Keep reading to learn more about the benefits of shea butter and some of my favorite shea beauty products 😃

Shea Butter Benefits

1. Very Moisturizing

Shea butter contains emollient properties due to its fatty acid content that rehydrate the skin and lock in moisture. Shea is absorbed into the skin rapidly so you are able to see results instantly. This moisturizing effect can last for hours leaving your skin soft, supple, and rejuvenated.

2. Helps Fade Scars

Shea butter is also known for its healing properties. The antioxidant properties help generate new skin cells and promote the production of collagen that work to minimize the appearance of scarring as well as fine lines and/or wrinkles.

3. Anti-inflammatory

The anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties found in shea help soothe the skin and relieve itching. Protecting the skin against the effects of inflammation which include redness, swelling, and more. Perfect for skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis.

4. Non-comedogenic

Shea butter is a natural ingredient that comes from the nuts of the shea trees native to West Africa. It is ranked 0-2 on the comedogenic scale making it very unlikely to clog pores. It is high in fatty acids and low in proteins that can trigger allergies making it safe for nearly every skin type.
